[WIP] Monkey Lizard - Part 2
May 31st, 2006 by Jason
Truckin’ along at a pretty good clip with this one. The Monkey Lizard now has a [rough] body. The arms are nearly finalized, but the lower body needs a fair amount of work. His midsection needs a bit more definition and his legs are in need of severe tweakage. He looks a little odd posed like this (he has a really wide stance), but I figured that even though he’s not primarily a biped, it would simplify modeling and rigging if I adhered to that standard. Hopefully, when his crouched and hunched over with some weight on his arms, he’ll look a bit more natural.
But on the whole, I can’t say I’m too disappointed with him so far. Now I need to work on giving him respectable hands and feet. Then we can move on to making him asymmetrical and giving him a bit more personality.
Also, a fair amount of adjustment went into his face. Namely, the center was flattened a bit more and I gave him a bit more of an underbite so he’d more closely match the original concept sketch. Here’s a close-up on his face:
Thoughts? Opinions? Insults?
