I’d say the last one is really close to being a breakthrough for you. It’s overall really solid, I like the color choices a lot, and the strong outline for the silhouette is a good choice. I’d like to see some line-weight variation in the facial details though. Nothing drastic.
Oh and by the way, other than the reversed pupils, I don’t read too much zombie into this, it just seems like someone doing line-drawings to me. I perfer my zombies gored up a bit. Subtlety-schmudlety.
