Time waster,
March 23rd, 2006 by WarrenThis is a quick pencil sketch I did before doing a full figure drawing of Marvel Comics character Thor. My Local Comics Store (LCS) issues a prompt each month or so to have anybody that comes in draw a particular character of their choosing. This prompt was of course Thor. And even being a life long card carrying comic dork, I realized I’d never drawn him. So I did a quick headshot before getting into figuring how I wanted to pose him. (Which is a story I’m not getting into. It was supposed to be relaxing self inflicted torture.) One thing I learned is I will not attempt to actually use for real physics for capes/cloaks again, while drawing in the superhero genre. That looks like he has a towel around his neck. Also I’m a total goof and forgot to scan the finished drawing, before handing it over to the guys at the shop. It’s certainly nothing too amazing, but it was good to do a drawing that wasn’t part of or planning for some much more involved task.

This is also a semi-transparent means of testing my abilities to post here after the recent wave of updates. I’ll cross my fingers.
