He really does look like a Bob
May 23rd, 2007 by FweebHere’s something interesting. Apparently there’s been a recent study suggesting that people have a generally unified consensus on what kinds of faces match certain names. That’s right. If you think someone looks like a Bob or a Frank or whatever, chances are good that most other people think the same thing. According to the study, the names that people have the most well-defined preconception of a look are Bob, Bill, Brian, and Jason. That’s right… my name is in there.
Perhaps this is why I’ve been know by so many names. I don’t particularly look like a Jason (or so I’ve been told), so perhaps people have generated names that have had greater association to them.
Or… I could be talking nonsense. Either way, it’s interesting stuff.
