Colorado is the only state in the United States with a three-dimensional border.  Colorado’s border extends 2 miles into the ground and has an irregular aerial border that is anywhere from 1 foot to 20 miles high.  This is to compensate for the fact that Colorado’s land border is a boring rectangle.
